A Summer Hat Trick

I will be spending a week at the beach in South Carolina this summer with one of my best friends. With my fair Irish skin, I will need all the sun protection I can get. Along with my SPF 50 this summer, I want to add a fun hat to the mix this summer. Chic and retro.

Whirling Plaid Sunhat
The plaid makes it oh-so-preppy.

Pins and Needles Crochet Straw Floppy
The scalloped edges make it look like lace, but the straw makes it perfect for the beach!

Summer Straw Hat

It is simple. You can’t go wrong with it.

You’re Blushing

Spring is the perfect time to wear blush tones. So now that the weather is getting nicer, we all need to start blushing!

Lucca Couture Crepe Chiffon Dress
The stud details on the hem give this girly dress a little edge. Would be super cute for a date night!

Tiered Lace Knit Top
Pair with some wedges, jeans, and some earthy accessories and you are all set.

Gossamer Lei Necklace
Like wearing darker colors…even in the spring? This necklace would be a great contrast to a black or navy dress.

Beacon Tote
Functional and cute. Would be perfect for work…especially since I basically carry my life around in my bags.

Abby toe cap ballet flats
You can never go wrong with a great pair of flats.

A Little Bit of Romance…

These heels would be perfect for an outdoor summer wedding!

Forget-me-knot…Such a delicate bow!

A lemony fresh wedding!

Say, “I Love You,” in a new way…

Such a cute rug for a bedroom!

Because I have issues with hand-holding.

A blog dedicated to the author’s love of Pride and Prejudice (basically the best love story ever!).

A chance for your love story to be featured in windows on Fifth Avenue.

I normally don’t like country music at all, but I am kind of loving this song….

Spring Released

I am so ready for spring. So are my clothes. My old rain/snow boots even sent me a sign – they started cracking. It’s time for the snow to stop and for us to pack up the wool pea coats. Get ready for spring!

Scalloped zipper sweater
I saw this in J. Crew the other day and wanted it immediately. Ruffles. A sweater. A sweatshirt. Zippers. Girly and casual. How could you possibly go wrong?

Printed Skippy Slip On
Slip on summer shoes with whales = Super cute and comfortable. Perfect for all of those summer evening strolls.

Chorus Girl Romper
A fancy romper…perfect for a date night! Throw on a cardigan and some wooden wedges, and you are set!

Cooperative French Girl Polo
I definitely think I had a shirt like this when I was little. And it looks great with some high-waisted shorts!

In regards…

I saw a “Regard ring” in February’s issue of Lucky and I immediately fell in love.  A romantic ring that became popular in the Victorian era, “regard” is an acronym for the six stones used to create the ring – Ruby, Emerald, Garnet, Amethyst, Ruby, Diamond.

After looking for some regard rings, I found that “Dearest rings” were also made – Diamond, Emerald, Amethyst, Ruby, Emerald, Sapphire, Topaz.

Apparently, acrostic jewelry became popular during the Victorian era, and they would even use stones to represent names.  Sarah – Sapphire, Amethyst, Ruby, Aquamarine, Hessonite garnet.

Such a sweet sentiment, and I love how vintage it is!

I want one!

Off the Shoulder

From just looking at the dresses at the Golden Globes, you can see that shoulders are all the rage right now. One shoulder. Shoulder embellishments.
Get inspired by the latest trend for your own wedding.

Chiffon and Organza Dune Gown

The asymmetrical straps and the flowers cascading down the one shoulder embrace the trend in a simple way on this dress. This light and airy dress would be perfect for a wedding in an exotic beach location!

Alfred Angelo
A sleek look for that elegant, chic, no frills wedding.

Jim Hjelm Occasions
Don’t think you can work that shoulder look yourself? Have your bridesmaids do it! I have worn a Jim Hjelm dress before and it was super comfortable. This tea-length dress with the floral sleeve would be great for a spring wedding.

What to get?

I am really bad this year. I have not purchased any Christmas presents…and it is next week. So I have turned to online browsing and shopping to get everything done. Here’s a preview of some great gift ideas for my friends and family.

Audrey Hepburn: Int’l Cover Girl
Great for my friend C. She idolizes Audrey, so this book is perfect for her.

Shipwrecked Necklace
My friend M loves anchors. Cute enough to wear out. Subtle enough that she can wear it to work.

Fit-to-be-Tied Headband
My sister B is forever borrowing my headbands. This one would be great for her to wear to school…the color would look great with her uniform!

Talking Moo Mixer

This is just annoying and funny enough to give to my brother. And he would use it.

Always Cardigan
Perfect for mom. You can lounge around in it, or just throw it on to run errands or go to dinner with friends.

Pen Pot Cognac
To help dad keep his desk a little more organized.

Shine On…

The holidays are coming, and we need to add some sparkle! Get inspired by the icicles and snow that are bound to show up in the coming months.

Sparkle Bib Necklace
The perfect accessory to brighten up a simple dress. Great to transition from work to night.

Crushed Glitter Magic Wallet
Just because it is fun!

Sequined Starland Tank

Pair with jeans for a night out. Wear with a skirt and blazer for the holiday office party.

Deco-jeweled Headband

Don’t want to go overboard but need that hint of sparkle? This headband is perfect.

Belted Sequin Dress
It has a hint of the 80s and would be great for a New Year’s Eve party!

It is almost November, which means that the holidays are coming. Holidays = holiday parties. A fabulous dress is a must!
A LBD is perfect for the holidays. You can dress it up with bright accessories and shoes, and you will always look classy.

Silk taffeta bow monde dress
I absolutely love the bow! You don’t need a necklace with this dramatic neckline, so go for the showstopping earrings and some bright tights instead!

Silk chiffon twist tank dress
Go for the bold necklace in a bright color! The floaty chiffon makes this dress perfect for dancing!

Silk chiffon Juliet dress
The horizontal pleats along the bottom make this so flirty! I would pair this with fabulous silver or red shoes – make it more festive!
